What makes it a simulator, not an arcade game
In an arcade tennis game, you win by playing the shots well. In a tennis career simulator, you win by building a better player and making better decisions over hundreds of weeks. Tennis Goat takes the second approach and designs every system around it.
- Simulated match engine. Scorelines come from both players' attributes, adjusted for surface, fatigue and form. Upsets still happen, just as they do on tour.
- Consequences carry over. A deep run in one tournament leaves your player tired for the next. Pushing through fatigue raises injury risk.
- A realistic AI field. You climb a ranking full of AI opponents who are developing, peaking and declining around you.
The core systems of the simulation
| System | What it simulates | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Attributes | Serve, Groundstrokes, Net Play, Return, Movement, Mental | Decide match outcomes. Each surface rewards a different mix. |
| Progression | Three zones: fast gains early, a steep climb as a pro, an extreme grind at elite level | Getting to the top is hard. Staying there is harder. |
| Regression | Attributes slip slightly without training | You can't coast. Peak form needs constant upkeep. |
| Fatigue & injury | Energy drain from matches and training, with injury risk when overworked | Rest weeks and a good physio are real tactical choices. |
| Rankings | Points by highest round reached, dropping off after 52 weeks | Defending points creates the peaks and valleys of a real season. |
| Finances | Prize money, sponsor bonuses, weekly staff and travel costs | The best coaches and facilities have to be earned. |
Seven tiers of tournaments
Like the real tour, the simulator has a ladder. Players begin at Satellite events and earn their way up. Each tier brings more ranking points, bigger prize money and tougher draws.
Satellite & Pro Circuit
The proving ground. Build points, confidence and enough money to hire better staff.
Open Series & Premier 500
The main tour. The first titles, sponsors and a real ranking.
Elite Series
The biggest regular events, packed with the top of the field.
Classic Slams & Year-End Finals
Four majors across four surfaces, plus a season finale for the top eight players.
Coaching and staff: the multipliers
Each of the 36 coaches has a training multiplier and a specialty that boosts specific attributes. A serve specialist makes your serve training more effective. A Legend-tier coach improves everything but costs a fortune. Physios, psychologists and nutritionists come in five tiers each and affect fatigue, morale and injury risk. Upgraded training facilities add permanent bonuses on top.
Scoring a career: the GOAT Score
When your player retires, the simulator weighs titles by tier, Classic Slam wins, peak ranking, longevity and late-career success into one GOAT Score. It is our answer to the question the real world keeps arguing about. See how the real contenders compare in The GOAT of Tennis and Grand Slam Records.

Frequently asked questions
What is a tennis career simulator?
A tennis career simulator is a game that models a professional tennis player's whole career, including training, scheduling, rankings, finances and matches. The player makes management decisions, and the results are simulated.
How are matches simulated in Tennis Goat?
Matches are decided by both players' attributes, adjusted for surface, fatigue and form. That produces realistic scorelines and occasional upsets.
Is the ranking system realistic?
Yes. Ranking points are awarded for the highest round reached and drop off after 52 weeks, so you have to defend last season's results.
Can my player get injured?
Yes. Overworking your player raises injury risk. Rest weeks, recovery sessions and a good physio help manage it.
Is Tennis Goat a tennis simulator for mobile?
Yes. Tennis Goat is a free tennis career simulator for iPhone and Android, with no ads.
